Mark Warner

I just finished watching Mark Warner give his keynote speech. I thought it was a well balanced, realistic and hopeful speech. I like Warner - I would have voted for him if I lived in Virginia.

Here's what I found interesting...

This was the keynote speech and they moved it out of the Prime Time 9:45-11 PM timeframe! I just heard that this was a last minute thing. The Obama campaign was not happy with his speech. They felt it was too soft. Warner had said all along that he was not going to go up and just spout out one-liners and vitriol. He wanted to talk about innovation, the need for positive change, growing the economy, etc. This was not acceptable - so they pushed him forward in the evening.

I liked the speech, but I will admit it didn't feel like the energetic kick off kind of speech that has previously been given. Remember, just four years ago it was Obama who was giving this speech.
